My Recent Beer-Brined Chicken


So this is my chicken, ready to go in the oven! I had marinaded it in a mixture of beer-salt-sugar-water for about 20 hours then let it 'dry' a bit without the beer for an hour. Then it went in for about 1.5 hours.

This is the chicken before adding the beer! I bet the chicken must be happy to be bathing in beer, I mean who wouldn't be?  


And this is the finished product! Ta da! At first I was not sure if what Betty Crocker's recipe was asserting that the beer makes the chicken more tender than the usual. But now I'm sure! Sure of the tenderness and whatnot. The chicken meat literally falls of the bone, and even the usually tougher parts like the breast were unbelievably soft! WOW is all I can say.
