NYX Butter Gloss (Peaches and Cream-BLG03) Review

Step aside, MAC Lipglass! Looks like someone has taken your place!

Mean comment aside, I know a lot of you have also heard about NYX's butter gloss and how it's been becoming more and more raved about in the recent months. As to where my mean comment came from, Temptalia's readers' awards made this lip gloss win over MAC's Lipglass in 2013.

So far, this is the only tube of it I own. I don't really plan to buy other shades in the near future as I'm not really a lip gloss person, and that I just got quite a lot of lip tars recently.

Anyways! This shade is in Peaches and Cream. When I was checking out the blogs, I was expecting it to be really peach orange because aside from the name, a lot of the swatches I saw were on that direction. I was quite surprised when this baby came and I realized that it's actually a coral bubblegum pink.

When you bring the wand out, you see this really bright and neon color. The smell is really sweet and fruity, which I really loved.

These are the ingredients!

Too bad it's made in China though! Maybe that's the reason why they're able to sell these products at really good prices...

When swatched on the arm, this is how it looks like. On the arm it looks more opaque as it's set on my skintone colored arm as a background.

However, when applied on the lips, you'd see that it's this light corally pink color that goes on quite translucently. It's definitely not opaque as you can still see my real lip color, but it also gives a nice overall tint and glow to it. This is by far one of the most comfortable lip glosses I've tried because it's not too sticky to feel tacky and also is dense enough for it to not slide off of my lips. The formulation is just right.

And more photos of me wearing it! The downside though is that it tends to spread unevenly on the lips if you do not apply with a mirror on. As in you'd see it in thicker layers on some parts of the lips and in thinner layers on the others. You'd really need to make a conscious effort to even it out and pucker up if need be.

And like any other lip gloss, this needs to be reapplied every hour or so, and will not withstand food and beverages. The nice thing though is that it leaves this nice faint pink tint on the lips once it dries, so if you're just concerned about looking fresh, you needn't apply this too often each day.

As for the smell, I personally liked it, but I am aware that some people are not into this and may prefer unscented products...

Overall, once I use up this tube, I'll consider getting this lip gloss again. I'm not a fan of lip gloss in general which is why I won't hoard all the shades, however I do recommend this if you're looking for lip gloss.

I got this for Php195 at NYX Wholesale PH, and given how affordable it is I can live with the reality that this will spoil in a few months and I'd need to get a new one again.
