Etude House Kissful Tint Choux (PK002 / #3/ Strawberry Pink) Review

Mwah mwah mwah! If Marilyn Monroe were Korean, maybe this would have been her go-to product hahaha.

This review is in Etude House's Kissful Tint Choux. I know it's for the lips and all, but honestly, I don't know what it is. It's most definitely not a lipstick, it does not provide softening to the lips so it's not a lip balm either, it's not as pigmented as a lip tar, it's glossy and it's most definitely not a matte lip cream, but it's also too thin and watery to be considered a traditional lip gloss. It's somewhere in between everything I think.

I think I could phrase this as a color changing lip tint/ lip gloss/ lip color.

Etude House Lovely Cookie Blusher (Peach Choux Wafers-11) Review

If there were such an award in the makeup world as best applicator puff, this product would definitely win the award this year and the next hundred years to come. Or actually, this puff isn't really a puff but rather a fluffy pompom inspired by the behind of a bunny.

Okay, enough about the puff (althohgh it's so worthy of being talked about), I'll now proceed to talking about Etude House's Lovely Cookie Blusher in greater detail!

I figured it'd be easier to talk about the blush based on how it looks like on me, so here's me sporting this blush! This shade is in Peach Choux Wafers. I bought this from the BDJ Box Store for Php348. Initially, I thought it'd be peach (as in bright yellow orange) kind of peach based on the name. Also, since this is a shade of the whole line that seems to not be as popular as the others, I kind of had a hard time looking for decent photos and swatches.

I just decided to get this after thinking that an orange-ey blush would be good for my collection of blushes full of pinks and reds.

3 Concept Eyes #Make Me Blush Duo Color Face Blush Review

This is another of those brands that I so totally wished had stores in the Philippines! I do think that some online stores in the US carry 3 Concept Eyes, but in general I don't think that it has made a global expansion in terms of physical stores yet because it's still only in Hong Kong aside from Korea. 3 Concept Eyes, together with Style Nanda and KKXX (you must have heard of these Korean brands by now) form one store, so if there's a Style Nanda store there's most likely a 3 Concept Eyes kiosk in it.

Before our Hong Kong trip earlier this year, I thought that 3 Concept Eyes didn't have a physical store in Hong Kong which is why I did not bother looking for it. Turns out, there are indeed some outlets in Hong Kong already. I ended up getting this one from a store in Prince Edward that resells Japanese and Korean makeup.

This is their duo blush in the shade of #Make Me Blush. This is the pinkest and one of the most balanced ones in the product line.

There are four other shades to choose from, and either the duo is warm or cool. The one I got is more or less the only duo to have a warm and a cool color. Actually that's the reason I got it too because I felt that I'd be able to make good use for this blush as I can bring it with me and expect that I have a warm and a cool shade to choose from.

Beautymaker by Kevin Love Pu Pu Cheek Blush Review

This is one of those products that make me sad! It looks so cute and all, and comes with a puff with a bow (my ultimate weakness), but it doesn't show up on my cheeks! Not even the slightest bit! Kevin why do you frustrate me like this huhuhu.

Anyways, this is Beautymaker by Kevin's Love Pu Pu Cheek Blush in a shade I can't understand how to read. It's a peachy shade though.

Himalaya Herbals Loot Box

Let's give a warm round of (online) applause for a new brand to love! Himalaya Herbals is now in the Philippines!

To give a little background, Himalaya Herbals was founded in India in 1930 by Mr. M. Manal, who envisioned that ayurveda (a Hindu system of alternative medicine) would become at par with modern medicine. Initially, the company was mainly focused on drugs and in creating medicines out of roots and herbs used in ayurvedic practices.

The company has been family owned all this time, and has expanded operations to over 80 countries over the years.

In 1999, they introduced personal healthcare products to their product lines.

In 2013, they branched out to the Philippines with oral care and skincare products, making their products available at Watsons, Mercury Drug, Shopwise, and Robinsons stores nationwide.

In 2014, they sent items for me to love and review.

Akin to their botanical image, they sent the items in this paper mache box with golden bamboo decorations painted on it.

Physiogel #FreeInMySkin Event (September 9, 2014)

Everybody has a skin problem to tell.

I have extremely oily skin, I have had years of blackheads and whiteheads, and if anything, I have bouts of acne more unpredictable than the weather.

And I think a lot of the girls in the Philippines also have the same problems. But some have it worse-- some have eczema, some have skin asthma, and some people just have extremely sensitive skin. We go on with our lives not realizing that our skin problems have been holding us back in one way or another. For some, it can be feeling discomfort or pain that daily activities aren't so easy to do, or for the others, bad skin can take a toll on the self-esteem.

For those women who have gotten over their insecurities, for those women who are living their lives to the fullest, and for those women who are being the best version of themselves, Physiogel wants to honor them with the launch of the #FreeInMySkin movement. The movement is all about leaping at life's opportunities without having to be held back by dry and sensitive skin, empowering the inspiring women in our lives, and of course, honoring the women who are free in their skin.

Wet n Wild Coloricon Trio (383B- Knock On Wood) Review

I was browsing NYX Wholesale PH on what Wet n Wuld trio to buy, and actually, this set wasn't even in my first choices because the swatches on the website were so bad that it looked like the wearer was swollen. Thankfully, with a little googling of 'wet n wild knock on wood' on Google image search, I saw a lot of really good looks online done with this eyeshadow trio, which is why I decided on ordering this trio.

To start off, it's a very reddish trio, so if your photography conditions are really bad (as in cellphone camera circa 2004 with horrible quality), this probably might not be for you as it will make you look swollen. As for application, it'd take a really botched application before this makes you look swollen so in general, it's okay to buy this.

Dolly Wink Eyebrow Powder (Chocolate Brown-02) Review (Holy Grail Product)

There are just products you love so much that you buy them in other shades. This is one of them. You may have seen my positive review on Dolly Wink's Eyebrow Powder in Honey Brown months back, and how I've included it in my April Faves Video. And in general you've probably seen the frequent mentions of this shade in particular in a lot of my tutorials that it's also time to make a formal review.

This is in shade 2 or Chocolate Brown. There's actually a third shade, but it's too ash and too dark that I am still not certain as to whether I shuld buy it as I'd mostly only be able to use it on my clients and not me. This is the darkest eyebrow powder I'd like to use for everyday...

But anyways, let me show you some more photos of the product and my adventures in using this shade as an eyebrow product and for contouring!

Reach University

Hooray for a new magazine in town! Last Friday (August 29), my family and I attended the launch of Reach magazine. The event, as this blog title implies, was entitled Reach University.

Reach is sort of like a Reader's Digest with some celebrity tidbits and manga (the Japanese comics, not our national fruit), and there are coupons at the back. At the time of the launch, they were also launching their third magazine issue with Velerie Concepcion (and her daughter Fiona) on the cover.

Initially, they were not doing formal magazines, and were instead doing glossy newsletters with articles on them alongside ads and all. They then decided to do formal magazines like these early this year.

Last issue's cover girl was Kathryn Bernardo for Suntouch.
