Thus far, I have already seen people being brought together by fate, first sight, first sniff, first everything. This is the first time for me to see a fresh new angle on love!

Can flavor tell us more about ourselves than we think? Moreover, can people be matched based on their flavor profiles? Knorr has discovered how our favorite flavors might mean so much more than previously thought, particularly when it comes to finding love.

The research behind this new campaign spoke to 12,000 people in 12 different countries, on the ground breaking role flavors play in our lives. With 83% of responders claiming to be more attracted to people who enjoy the same food flavors as them, this fuelled the idea that your personality flavor can truly help in making a meaningful connection and determine the depth and quality of our various relations – whether with family members, friends and peers, or even romantic partners.  80% see flavor as an important part of their everyday life. In fact, 69% of find the idea of trying out new flavors sexy and exciting, and surprisingly, 73% of them would even most willingly give up social media first forever before sacrificing flavor.

Overall, the research reveals how our flavor preferences are just as important when it comes to choosing a partner, as eight out of ten people said they are more attracted to people who share their flavor preferences. A third even said they found someone ordering a dish they disliked a turn off, though one in five is wise to this and admits to choosing a meal they didn’t like to impress a date.

Putting these insights and research to the ultimate test, a social experiment campaign with a twist was created to showcase how flavor can be catalysts to life’s meaningful connections. In a short film entitled Love at First Taste, sets of two complete strangers were paired up in a blind date on the basis on their love for the same flavors. The result? An entertaining film that underpins how each culinary experience and flavor creates distinct memories and feelings with people, discovered using the Flavor Profiler.

“Having studied the behavioural patterns behind food consumption for over 30 years, this research by Knorr validates something I have long suspected; that food and flavors are a window to our character and our flavor preferences offer a vital insight into our personality,” shared Greg Tucker, Flavor Expert and Psychologist. “So it is no wonder that when pairing up, we seek soul-mates who are also eat-mates, who like the same food and flavors that we do.”

I took the quiz! When you go to the My Flavor Knorr website, you'd be welcomed by this page. There are 12 flavor profiles you can possibly get after the quiz.

The quiz is just like 12 questions and it's all simple questions with photos accompanying the choices. Answering the quiz late at night was not a good idea as it made me so hungry!

I took the quiz three or four times because I seemed to have met with a glitch the first few times. But thankfully, after staring at the screen displaying this, I finally got my result!

Weeee! I'm a Tangy Dynamo! And I'm scared because this is much more accurate than I thought it would be. The profile exactly matches my food preferences. My own mother craved for kamias, sinigang, and all sorts of sour foods when she was pregnant with me. It was no wonder that I like sour foods so much. I super like citrus flavors, I love the taste of spiced vinegar, and I always gravitate towards all the sour soups of Southeast Asia.

Even the recipes are also the exact things I crave for all the time! I have a bad habit of drinking just sinigant soup alone by just dissolving Knorr powder into water wahahahahaha. I am also addicted to Tokwa't baboy. Had we not ordered from Amber for my birthday last night, we would have actually gotten tokwa't baboy from a nearby place.

For those curious, here are the other possible profiles you can get. I zoomed out on these so that they'd fit the screen, but if you'd like to read them better, you can check this page out:

So there's Deep Sea Dreamer, Salty Adventurer, Roasted Romantic,  Tangy Dynamo, Gracious Grazer, Meaty Warrior, Spicy Rebel, Melty Indulger, Rustic Ranger, Earthy Idealist, Sweet Seeker, Mustard Maverick.

Had I not gotten Tangy Dynamo, I may have gotten Earthy Idealist as I love mushrooms too much, Melty Indulger because I like cheese, or Sweet Seeker as I'm such a sweet tooth. But I feel like sour is the most prevalent flavor I look for so the quiz is still accurate.
