Cream Silk Triple Keratin Rescue Now On Sample Room

Cream Silk Triple Keratin Rescue Ultimate Conditioners

Pia's ultimate beauty, now ultimately ours!

Cream Silk recently released their Triple Keratin Rescue, as their new foray into the daily treatment conditioner market. I do not know if they are phasing out their original daily treatment conditioner range, but as far as these new babies are concerned, they are the future.

Before I explain further, I'd like to take the chance to thank Sample Room for sending this kit over! To add, y'all can still try the pink one for free at Sample Room for 55 points

Okaaaay, going back to storytime! When I was the Cream Silk intern, it was the time that they were revamping their daily treatment conditioner's (DTC) communication strategies. At the time, their daily treatment conditioner was marketed as treatment and conditioner mixed into one. The commercials literally had treatments and conditioners form a sonic fusion into the DTC––it was quite literal...

So at that time, Cream Silk wanted to communicate to the consumer that by having a middle ground formula between treatment and regular conditioner, the customer could have the best of both worlds. The user could have a generally lightweight conditioner for everyday, but with the potency that's able to repair the damage caused by excessive bleaching and rebonding. A lot of the ad materials and campaign strategies that I worked on revolved around their DTC range, which is why it has a special place in my heart.

I of course no longer know the backstory that led to this new product, but I know that in the universe of conditioners, this is their new entry into the DTC market. This is why I am very excited that they have an all new formula, all new packaging, all new fragrance, and generally an all new branding and positioning strategy. Cream Silk generally has a very special place in my heart, so whenever they do something new, even if it's been 3 years since I interned for them, I always feel so giddy.

Speaking of conditioner, I learned so much when I was there! Conditioner is actually broken down into 4 main types: rinse off (the basic ones), weekly treatment (the one in tubs), leave on conditioner, and DTC...

Okay going back, this is the lovely seeding kit leather box they sent the items in!

So what's new?

Cream Silk Triple Keratin Rescue is the world's first trinity of keratin relaxers (to tame rebellious frizz), keratin essence (to restore lustrous hair), and keratin serum (to revive from intense damage).

This time around, instead of creating it in a mirror image of the existing rinse off line, they have channeled the new formulation into two easy-to-discern variants. Gold (Ultimate Repair and Shine) for shine, Pink (Ultimate Straight) for straightness. I find this more refined, because I only need to think of whether I want straightness or shine. And then for my more specific concerns, I can just easily turn to their original rinse off line.

Their Ultimate Repair and Shine variant reminds me of what mango, chocolate, and vanilla would smell like together. It does smell overpowering if you just sniff off the tube. When I used it, I realized that after washing it off, the fragrance that stayed on my hair was just right and was not overpowering at all. I later found myself impressed that even after like 16 hours, my hair still smelled like the conditioner. This variant in particular has coconut oil, so if you use coconut oil for your hair, this will help make your haircare routine more convenient.

Like before, they retained the star shaped cap! I always got so excited using these as I felt like I was piping out icing each time I took a shower. Sorry na mababaw lang talaga ako...

Their Ultimate Straight variant smells a lot like a hybrid of strawberry, peach, and a faint touch of vanilla and iris. Just like the gold variant, this can get a little too overwhelming if you will just sniff the tube. Just like the other variant, this is enriched with Argan oil, but this one does not have coconut oil. Instead, it has rose hips oil to make hair smoother.

The icing opening is here once again!

The texture was something that I found to be totally novel as well. The old DTC's somehow felt like treatments in tubes as the formulation was thicker and more cream-like. But this new formulation is wispier (wispy enough that it's translucent) and more gel-like.

After usage, hair feels light but deeply nourished. They somehow reversed the laws of physics and pulled this off.
