L'Oréal Paris Infallible 16HR Pro-Matte Liquid Lipstick (372-Petal Potion) Review

L'Oréal Paris Infallible 16HR Pro-Matte Liquid Lipstick
is L'Oréal's answer to those who prayed for liquid lipsticks that are comfortable, chic, and mercilessly pigmented. It has Triple Matte Gel Topcoat Technology that promises all-day long-wear and comfortable matte finish, and this is also notable for having an arrow-shaped applicator for really accurate application. This review is for the shade 372-Petal Potion

Overall Feedback:
For me, L'Oréal Paris Infallible 16HR Pro-Matte Liquid Lipstick is the most well-rounded choice for liquid lipsticks in the drugstore category. It's priced just right, with a forgiving texture most people can agree with, and longevity which may not be the best in the industry but already good enough with respect to its other good attributes.

When it's wet, it's a slightly thick liquid, which thankfully dries into a lightweight, velvety layer. It doesn't feel as hot and heavy as other drugstore liquid lipsticks. It actually is so lightweight that the difference between this and high-end liquid lipsticks is almost negligible. Once dry, it's flexible, and it doesn't flake off nor chip off awkwardly. When smacking the lips, however, there is a slightly sticky feel to it, but it's comfortable enough relative to a lot of other brands.

The colors are vividly intense, and all are beautiful. The color payoff is also insane, with one thin swipe already able to opaquely cover the lips. This thankfully doesn't oxidize a lot, though there really is some oxidation going on, especially with the brown-based shades.

This doesn't dry the lips, even when worn for a long time, true to its promise. As for the 16-hour claim, this definitely doesn't stay up to 16 hours if one will eat and drink. Assuming one doesn't eat nor drink, 12 hours is a more accurate timeline for how long it can last. But generally, it lasts long enough for most people to carry out whatever engagement or schedule they were supposed to do.

The scent is amazing for sweet tooths as it really strongly smells of vanilla cupcakes, although I'd also understand if some people will not like it. The applicator is also a good choice, as instead of the usual doe-foot applicator, this one is arrow-shaped, which really makes it easier to reach corners and other hard to reach areas. I do think the arrow-shaped applicator really makes a difference. I also find the color matching packaging to be good.

At Php399 for 6.3mL, it's already a generous amount of product relative to the price. Most other liquid lipsticks are at about 5mL, so this is already plentiful. To add, even 4-5mL tubes already take forever to use up, so consumers really will be able to enjoy using these for a long time. And of course, there's also the fact that it's generally lightweight, comfortable, flexible, and beautiful all at the same time.

A pinkish mauve shade with grey undertones.
