Thank you, Revlon, for the Christmas gifts, birthday gifts, 2020 foundation supply gifts, etc. Revlon sent such a huuuuge package that I'm sure my entire family will have enough base makeup until the next decade!

Revlon has been around since 1932 and has always been a favorite throughout generations as it's got practical color makeup and among the most reliable base makeup. When I got into the beauty blogging scene in 2013, I can remember that Revlon was the top choice in drugstore foundations for oily skin. It actually often was viewed to be at par with very high-end foundations. Fast forward to today, while a lot of other drugstore brands have aggressively marketed their own wares, Revlon loyalists cannot be easily swayed. With base makeup this good, it's difficult to make a convert.

Revlon Colorstay Makeup for Combination/Oily Skin (Php825 for 30mL, available at Lazada, Shopee, and Amazon) comes in 13 shades, has SPF15, and promises to last up to 24 hours. While the glass makes it a bit heavier than it should be, I appreciate the pump dispenser. Moreover, I love how they focused most of the shades for morena skin tones. While a wide spectrum is good, some brands have too wide of a spectrum that consumers will end up needing to mix two shades to get the middle ground. For this range, they paid attention to have various yellow and pinkish undertones, in several medium iterations, to make sure that most Pinays will be able to nail their shade.  I'm so excited to be swatching these and showing y'all in future posts, and to also road test and review these.

For those who are looking for serious coverage, there's Revlon Colorstay Full Cover Foundation (Php825 for 30mL, available at Lazada, Shopee, and Amazon). I wanna say upfront that it doesn't mean that this is in a tube that it has less product, it's 30mL like the Colorstay Liquid Foundation. I actually hear from brand managers that they hesitate from putting foundations into tubes because consumers think there's less product, even if in reality, it's much more cumbersome to be carrying a glass bottle around.

For this foundation, the selling point is a high level of coverage that lasts all day, but with a flexible texture that doesn't cake easily. Most high coverage foundations tend to be too thick and velvety that they just end up slipping off too easily, even with a good primer and all. So I'm looking forward to seeing how this'll fare.

A new player in the face universe of Revlon is their Colorstay Life-proof Foundation Stick (Php725 for 10g). These babies are SPF27 and are marketed to have good adhesion to the skin, so this'll be ideal for when you want to look your best during beach vacations in the coming summer. This, I think, also works perfectly for those who came from the era of stick foundations. My mom is more used to the idea of using stick foundations and then blending it in with a wet sponge, so there's that, too.

Of course, face makeup will not survive without concealer. I myself have had a lot of acne marks lately due to exam stress, so I'm looking forward to seeing how Revlon Colorstay Full Coverage Concealer (Php625 for 6.2mL, available at Lazada, Shopee, and Amazon) will work on me. These are mostly neutral shades if you ask me, so I have yet to see if these have enough redness or yellowness to cancel out dark under-eye circles. But off the bat, I think these will be terrific as spot correctors.

And! And! The highlighter junkie in me was so excited when I saw these beautiful Revlon Colorstay Endless Glow Liquid Highlighters (Php775 for 8.2mL)!!! These are new products from Revlon, so please look out for them on your next Revlon counter visit.

I usually tend to use powder highlighter, but I love liquid strobes a lot as well. I like how strobing liquid can help to create this dewy look, without dragging the makeup you already have. No matter how gentle I try, whenever I use a stick highlighter, there's bound to be some makeup that's gonna get dragged. I actually already pat the product from the stick onto my face, and don't drag anything, but I still get dragged sections of makeup after.

I'm also looking forward to using these products as a mix-in for foundation. I'm really more keen on dewy skin lately, and no longer want a totally matte finish, so I hope this'll bring some new life to my existing matte foundations.

I thought I'd just feature the items first here as I got so many products it'll take me a bit of time to review everything! I'm excited to be back with swatches soon. I'm still in a bit of a haze after exam season and I'm slowly just getting back to the hang of everything, so thank you for your patience.

Revlon is available in major department stores and beauty retailers, as well as Lazada and BeautyMNL
