AVON MARK Liquid Lip Lacquer Matte (M16 Naked Crush) Review

MARK by AVON Liquid Lip Lacquer Matte
is AVON's lip release for those who are looking for something else in the liquid lipstick category. With a luxuriously creamy mousse formulation, this is a godsend for those with dry lips. This boasts a built-in primer in the formulation for color that lasts for hours and doesn't bleed nor feather. Another special feature is a diamond-shaped doe-foot applicator to make makeup application more precise.
This review is for the shade M16 Naked Crush

Overall Feedback:
MARK by AVON Liquid Lip Lacquer Matte is perfect for those who are looking for a matte lippie but with the comfort of a lip balm. For those who always have dry lips and can't stand a drying matte lippie, this is an ideal choice.

The texture is very mousse-like, and it's soft and it feels luxurious. There is no stickiness at all, and despite the formulation being quite thick, it doesn't feel hot and heavy on the lips. Personally, I find this to be so helpful for people with dry lips like me as I'm generally into soft mousse formulations rather than liquid lipsticks that dry and set (and then flake). However, I feel that there seem to be production issues as some shades I own have a rough texture with bead-like things in them, while the others are perfectly smooth and luxurious. I guess this is why reviews online are mixed. I'd say that it's important to check the texture upon purchase and to request for an exchange if the texture is not the smooth and creamy mousse it's supposed to be.

The color payoff is amazing and it doesn't take much effort to get the product to fully cover your natural lip color. This is highly pigmented and can really change your entire look depending on the shade you purchase.

In terms of the product features, it's true that the product doesn't bleed, which matters a lot for mousse formulations. It doesn't feather nor crack, but it doesn't last very long as it's very soft and it moves a lot. Users can expect to reapply this several times throughout the day. It's very comfortable for a matte lip product though, so it's really just more of the priorities of the user.

The diamond doe-foot applicator is great, although I don't feel an exponential improvement in my application precision versus using a traditional doe-foot applicator. It's narrower than the usual doe-foot applicator, so I think the benefit lies more in the sense that it gets less unnecessary product on it when you take it out of the tube so you don't accidentally overapply it.

Overall, at Php399 for 7mL, it's quite generous relative to competitors which are mostly at 5mL for the same price range. The packaging is more compact than that of competitors, and it's chic, so there's that, too. If you're looking for a matte lippie that doesn't set and dry, and instead is a luxuriously comfortable mousse, then this is for you. However, if you're looking for a long-lasting product and do not mind that it could be uncomfortable, then this is not the product for you.
