AVON MARK Liquid Lip Lacquer Shine (HS14 Vintage Smoke) Review

MARK by AVON Liquid Lip Lacquer Shine
is AVON's recent foray into the lip gloss category, but with their own take on the product. With a structured texture and a built-in primer feature, this doesn't feather nor shift quite easily. Like its matte lacquer counterparts, these shine lip lacquers also have diamond-shaped doe-foot applicators to make makeup application more precise. This review is for the shade HS14 Vintage Smoke.

Overall Feedback:
AVON MARK Liquid Lip Lacquer Shine is the ideal choice for those looking for lip glosses with opaque colors. Most lip glosses in the market are transparent, or at best, translucent, so this is indeed a unique offering in the current market.

The texture is smooth, a bit thick, and also a bit sticky. But the nice thing is that it's not runny, it doesn't have this annoying tendency of some lip glosses to bunch up on the lower part of the lip. It really stays put where it's supposed to be, and even if one puckers up and pouts, it is not prone to having blotches. A lot of glosses are too runny that there is a tendency of accidentally eating the gloss as it bunches near the opening of the mouth, or there starts to be uneven patches on the lips which look bad in photos. This gloss might feel a bit sticky, but the formulation works well to adhere to the lips and prevent other common gloss problems from arising.

It doesn't feel heavy, but it does feel a bit warm on the lips. I still generally deem this as comfortable as accidentally eating lip gloss is the most uncomfortable sensation for me, and that doesn't happen thanks to the more structured formulation of this gloss. Like the matte lip lacquer, this is enriched with a serum formulation, which I think helps it to not be patchy and to not feel uncomfortable on dry lips.

The color payoff and pigmentation are amazing and the colors will really cover your natural lip color with barely any effort. Like the matte lip lacquers, these shine lip lacquers can change up your entire look with how the color dominantly colors over your natural lip color.

The packaging is also compact and ergonomic, and it's easy to distinguish the shades with the clear tubes. As for the diamond-shaped doe-foot applicator, like in the matte lip lacquer, I think it's here in the shine lacquer that the purpose shines more. As the applicator is small, it gathers only a little product each time, which helps to prevent overapplication. These glosses are already so intensely opaque that not much is needed to cover your lip's own color.

Overall, at Php399 for 7mL, the product portioning is generous and it'll take an eternity to use up one of these. Of course, the current market is not into glosses, so this obviously will not fly off the shelves like hotcakes. But if you're looking for a gloss in sophisticated shades with an agreeable texture, then this is an ideal product.
