Espoir New Couture Lip Fluid Velvet (BR901 Modest) Review

Espoir Lip Fluid Velvet is Espoir's take on lip tints with a "velvet-like soft couture texture." These are designed to be creamy and to have a soft finish, without a drying feel. The feel is designed to be so comfortable that it's "glued to the lips as if they were not applied." This review is for the shade Modest.

Overall Feedback:
Espoir Lip Fluid Velvet is a dreamy, velvety take on lip tint. The mousse formulation makes it a forgiving choice for those who have dry lips. The coloration is very vivid and opaque, unlike most tints which go on translucently, so this can really color over any dry patches.

This has a mousse formulation in the sense that it feels like it's whipped. It's velvety in the sense that it has a smooth glide feel, akin to applying blur primer, but not because it's overly powdery. It glides on easily and smoothly due to its mousse texture, and it doesn't set per se, so there is also no worry about this drying in uneven patches.

There is absolutely no sticky feel to this tint, making it a good choice to use in the humid Philippine weather. It feels emollient and balm-like on the lips, making it a comfortable choice for people like me with very dry lips. It does move around a lot, and does transfer a bit, so it doesn't last so long on the lips. It won't visibly fade as the shades are pigmented, but to keep it at 100% all day, one will need to reapply. This is very comfortable that I don't need to use any lip balm with this product.

The color pigmentation is really intense, and it takes almost no effort to get this to 100% opacity. The color payoff is also true to tube, and this tint doesn't get influenced much by one's natural lip color as it colors over everything. This is a great range for those who are looking for tints for statement looks, be it for everyday engagements, or for special occasions. The pigmentation and texture of this tint work well together in general to color over tiny crevices and dry patches on the lips.

At Php1000 for 7g, for a mid-tier brand, it's quite a lot of product relative to the price. Most tints and lipsticks are at 3-5g and usually, these can last for a year in most cases. At 7g, this is a generous portion, and I think that for those who are into Korean tints, but want something comfortable and velvety, this is a great choice. The shades are also chic and sophisticated, making this a good choice for statement K-pop star looks.
