Etude House Now In TriNoma!!!

Hoooraaaaay!!! Etude House is now in TriNoma! I know they opened a lot of branches this year and all, but this means a lot to me because I live in the area, and I have always had a hard time whenever I'm in TriNoma but want to visit an Etude House store because either I'd have to not visit for the trip or I'd have to walk all the way to SM North. I know I sound so lazy saying this, but like when you just want a short trip, the additional 10-15 minutes you have to devote to walk to the other mall and possibly another round walking back is kind of a hassle.

This explains why i'm so happy. And weeell, the second major thing that makes me so happy about this branch is that Etude House already stepped up their interior design game and they've already implemented the new concept stores, this store being one of them. This already looks like a lot Hong Kong Etude House stores. And for those who also frequent the store, I think you'll see in the photos I have here that they have more stair-like display racks, which is why a lot of the products are already prominently seen. The old design stores do have racks, but not as display-efficient as these.

And I guess what drove me and my mom crazy is this chandelier with ballerinas on it. Actually, the whole store is brimming with ballerina figures, but to see it on the chandelier is just so pretty. Huhuhu I spent a good minute staring at the ceiling because of this.

CanMake Make Me Happy Fragrance Hand and Nail Cream (Juiceful Peach) Review

I have eternally dry hands so this was kind of a refreshing product to use. But meh, who am I kidding, this is a refreshing product to use! This is CanMake's Make Me Happy Fragrance Hand Cream in Juiceful Peach. It smells really lovely, it's a good take on peach because the usual peach scented items smell too fake that it's dizzying. I like the addition of a citrus fragrance to it to balance out the really sweet smell of the peaches.

innisfree Capsule Recipe Pack (Jeju bija & tea tree) Review

Ever since I started seeing and using face masks, they were always these mask sheets soaked in essence sold in pouches. This is my first time to use a puschased mask that you rub on the face, because all the other times, it's me who concocts all sorts of face scrubs and masks.

Say hello to innisfree's capsule recipe pack in the Jeju bija and tea tree variant! The main reason why I purchased this is because this was what the saleslady recommended when I asked for a product I could use that was good in controlling oil on the skin. Honestly, I wasn't eyeing on this one as the rice, strawberry and honey variants seemed cuter (and yummier to think about).

OCC Lip Tar All Star Mini x 4 Set Review (Holy Grail Product)

You've seen all the individual reviews within this week so it's now time for me to give a roundup post of my Lip Tar kit!

OCC Lip Tar (Black Dahlia) Review

This is a lip tar I'll be reaching out less often than the others, for several reasons.

Primarily, it's an obviously vampy color that there are few occasions that call for this kind of lippie. I mean you'd usually only be able to sport this in special parties, as in not just any party because it's too vampy. It'd usually have to be a costume party, a 1930's themed party to be exact, before you'd be able to comfortably sport this color.

OCC Lip Tar (NSFW) Review

Welllllll.... this is one of those shades whose name is a misnomer for what it really is...

This is OCC's Lip tar in NSFW, but honestly, I think that this is the safest red for work. It's red and all, but among all the reds I've seen, this is the most neutral and the least shocking. I mean you guys should see Urban Decay's lipstick in F-Bomb to get what I mean when I say that this lippie isn't that shocking...

OCC Lip Tar (Anime) Review

I know you've seen my review of Memento so it's now time for something more shocking. This is OCC's Lip Tar in Anime, and this has been one of the most difficult lippies to photograph because its shock factor just doesn't come out in photos that it's guilt tripping. I feel bad actually that even after almost a hundred takes with this lippie, I still could not do justice and illustrate how shocking it is.

OCC Lip Tar (Memento) Review (Holy Grail Product)

Happy December everyone! December will be starting tomorrow so to kind of kick things off I'm now going to start my reviews for OCC's Lip Tars. This, and three other more shades I'll be reviewing, are from their All Star Mini kit. This review will be specific to the shade alone, and I'll be coming up with a more general review for lip tars in a summary post.

This shade is Memento, and honestly this is the shade that got me to buy the kit. I was googling around for MLBB (my lips but better) lip tars, but the photos were not accurate enough, and there wasn't really a consensus on which lip tars were the best MLBB shades, so I went with this one first. I thought that should this not work out, there's three other useful shades in the kit that I could toy with.

Thankfully, though it is not the 'best' MLBB lippie (if you're going to use the definition very strictly), it is actually really natural looking and flattering on the lips on its own way.

CanMake Make Me Happy Fragrance Body Cream (Sugar Berry)

It's body cream time! This is CanMake's body cream in sugar berry.

Like the hand cream, this is also notably very refreshingly fragrant. At first, I was laughing at the name of the scent because I was like how does one smell sugar, but the moment I sniffed it, the name was right all along. It smells like berries and all, but does not have this sour or tangy hint to it like the usual berries smell like. It smells like a really sweetened version of berries.

Like the hand cream, it's also really quick absorbing.

Etude House Top 8 Christmas Gift Suggestions + Giveaway!!!

Hooooooraaaayy for the holidays! I know a lot of you are rushing to get Christmas presents for people, so I kinda thought of making the process a bit easier by making my own suggestions of what would be great Christmas presents for all your female (regardless of cis-woman or trans-woman #Equality) friends, relatives, colleagues, and whatever, based on whatever your budget may be. I chose to make this an Etude House post because I have been planning to launch an Etude House giveaway from awhile back and thought that it would be nice to pair the giveaway post with some Christmas gift suggestions. And I think at the same time, Etude House is one of the few stores with legit items at every price point; it's a good place to start if you have different budgets for different recipients.

To start, just to make a disclaimer, I was not paid, sponsored, bribed, coerced, nor compensated in any way to do this post. I personally purchased most of the items I'll be featuring, and I also purchased everything that I'll be giving away in the giveaway. All items featured in this giveaway are 100% authentic, unused, and newly bought.

SOOO, OKAY, I AM NOT GONNA BORE YOU ANYMORE AND I AM NOW GOING TO LEGITIMATELY START MY LIST.

The Face Shop Face Masks Review (?)

There are just times when I don't know what I'm doing, like today. This isn't really a review of the masks, just me sharing how I use them and which masks I own or have tried so far.

I love mask sheets in general. I mean, who doesn't? (okay maybe not my family because they get freaked out when they see my face all white and ghostly...) I love how they help to calm my blackheads down and give me nice and supple skin overall. Too bad it'll be too expensive if I used them really often!

I know this is so stingy of me, but in general, when I have a face mask, I squeeze the mask sheet while pulling it out of the bag so that it's just damp and not dripping with the essence. What I do is use the mask sheet, throw it away, but keep the bag. I then use the remaining essence in the bag as my night cream until I consume everything. This way, I get to have really nice skin for up to a week!

In terms of hygiene the bag remains clean as I do put it in a clean area of our bathroom, and I don't make such a large slit that the essence gets exposed to the elements 24/7.

Essential Rich Premier Hair Essence Review (Holy Grail Product)

This is by far the only leave in product that nourishes and softens my hair without making it oily! And by far this is the most fragrant haircare product I own as it smells a lot like honey!

I have always loved Essential's products and this is no exception. This is their hair essence.

Urban Decay Dangerous Palette Review

This is unfortunately one Urban Decay gem that's already discontinued, but since the individual eyeshadows in this palette are still not yet discontinued, I thought that I might as well upload some photos of the palette and give some thoughts and descriptions over the eyeshadow shades in this palette.

Say hello to Urban Decay's Dangerous palette!

To start off, it's got 6 eyeshadows and a lip gloss.

My Etude House 2014 Great Princess Sale Haul

When Etude House announced that something big was coming when they reached 350 thousand fans on Facebook, I already kinda sensed that a big sale was coming up so I paused my purchases and waited for the big news to arrive.

And true enough, my guess was correct. After a looooooooooong time of having no sales, EH celebrated their 350 thousandth fan on Facebook with a nationwide, storewide 20% discount on everything Etude. I know that sentence is so dense and redundant but I think those who always shop at EH know how I feel.

So yeah, here's my Etude House 2014 The Great Princess Sale Haul!!!
(Please note that the prices I will say in this post are discounted prices as they appeared in my official receipt. For original prices of products, go to etudehouse.ph or ask them on Facebook).

Stila One Step Correct Skintone Correcting and Brightening Serum Review (Holy Grail Product)

This is one of those products that you never knew that you needed so badly (especially as a makeup artist) until you had it in your hands. And this is also one of those products that you'd never realize how good it is until you put it on your face and see how it solves all your color related problems.

This is stila's one step correct skin tone brightening and correcting serum. By far, this is the first ever stila purchase I've made, and since I've never received any stila product as a present before, this is also the first stila product I own.

Stila isn't really that popular here in the Philippines and I actually do not know why. I mean Urban Decay and Make Up For Ever are selling their products at similar prices but the two brands are relatively known here, especially among the beauty junkie crowd. If not for news articles and features in magazines, I honestly wouldn't know that there was a stila outlet in the Philippines...

Tony Moly Kiss Lover Lip Master (03-Sexy Red) Review + Gradient Lip Tutorial

Say hello to the lip product with an identity crisis!

Or well, I guess I shouldn't have phrased it that way because I'm actually thankful that Tony Moly's Kiss Lover Lip Master works as lipstick, lip gloss, mild lip balm, and lip tint ALL AT THE SAME TIME.

I am serious. It's a product that you are bound to love because of how good it is at multitasking.

Urban Decay Marshmallow Body Powder Review

I think I can safely say that I am an Urban Decay collector now because I buy UD items that I already consciously know as phased out. I dunno, I just feel like I missed out on a lot by not having a Vice 1 palette that it kinda translated to a lot of the other items that Urban Decay has. I know, I'm so emotional right huhubells.

Anyways, this is their marshmallow powder! This isn't really a high end 'outshine your neighbor' kind of product, as with usual Urban Decay products, but it's super amusing though.

This is a body shimmer.
A body shimmer that smells like marshmallows.
A body shimmer that tastes sweet.
Sweet. sweet. sweet.
YES I SAID IT TASTES SWEET.

Hooray for office friendly colors!

I think you're see my review from awhile back for Carnival Colour Palette in the 'Party' set, so my review for today will be for the other variant, the 'Everyday Sexy' set.

Etude House Baking Powder Pore Cleansing Foam Review (Holy Grail Product)

If I were to be asked about three adjectives by which I'd describe Etude House's Baking Powder Pore Cleansing Foam with, they'd be: Crazy, Amazing, and Out of This World.

As in I am not kidding when I am saying that this product is insane in getting blackheads off. Like no. Take it from the girl who has more blackheads than the stars in the galaxy (hyperbole intended).

I've used a lot of facial washes that made the skin feel clean, and while they did make my skin feel clean (and stay clean and safe from pimples and all that), this is by far the only facial wash (take note that this is a wash, not a scrub) that has shown extremely noticeable blackhead reduction results in one wash.

theBalm Sexy Mama Anti-Shine Translucent Powder Review (Holy Grail Product)

This is probably the only pressed powder with such a sexy lady on the cover. And this is one of those pressed powders that actually has follow through.

As in I can't explain how underrated theBalm is as a makeup brand because they have really good stuff and a lot of their loot goes unnoticed...

This is Sexy Mama, theBalm's pressed powder slash anti oil product rolled into one.

Carnival Cosmetics Colour Palette (Party) Review

Personally, I think that combining lip products and powdered products in one pan is a bad idea because the powders are bound to get dusted onto the lip product, but on the other hand, I cannot deny how convenient these combinations can be.

This is why I can't hate the idea altogether. And I guess it's the reason why I love this color palette from Carnival Cosmetics.

This is their Party color palette, made of two eyeshadows (combined in a single pan), a blush, and a lippie. Since this is the 'party' palette, the eyeshadows are more for the evening look, the blush cool in tone, and the lippie a bright cherry pink.

Kawaii Box Review + Giveaway!

If you thought beauty boxes were fun, wait till you see the cutest box in town, the Kawaii Box!

Yipee! The folks at Kawaii Box were nice enough to send me a box so I could show you guys all about it.

For starters, Kawaii Box, is, (you guessed it!), a subscription box program wherein they send you 10-12 cute kawaii items per month. They charge S$18.90 for each box, but the retail value of each box (since they contain original cute stuff all the way from Japan and Korea) could reach up to S$35-40.

This is supposedly their September Kawaii box, but due to customs problems, and simply the long distance from Singapore to the Philippines, I got the box about a week ago and it's only now I'm able to blog about it.

Dolly Wink Pencil Sharpener Review (Holy Grail Product)

It's easy to find good sharpeners for writing pencils, and it's easy to find mechanical pencils should you dislike the hassle of sharpening your pencils. However, with makeup, that isn't always the case. Not a lot of companies make their eye pencils in retractable plastic packaging, and a lot of the popular eye/lip pencils in the market are still wooden/plastic that you have to sharpen, or in other words, traditional.

I think all of you can relate to the struggle. As in the struggle of sharpening an eye pencil.

There's always a struggle to not get the product to break and stick onto the blades. And then there's this struggle of not knowing when it's already sharp enough and when you should stop sharpening. And those pencils made of bad wood, there's this struggle of not getting the wooden shavings to disintegrate and fly onto the product and everything else in your house. And of course, there is also the struggle of having to clean up waxy shavings from the sharpener blade, or in a day of misfortune, the cleanup of a pencil stump from inside the sharpener.

But with this sharpener, you can bid all those struggles goodbye.

Etude House Philippines October Blogger Gifts + Haul

Thank you so much, Etude House Philippines, for this month's blooger's loot! Hooray!

This also doesn't mean that I've stopped buying since I've been receiving stuff-- I think I've been buying more now compared to before actually hahaha.

So here are the items that I received and those that I bought in my visit yesterday!

Burt's Bees Lip Shine (Wink-030) Review

There are a lot of lip gloss options nowadays, but not many lip glosses are 100% natural!

This is Burt's Bees lip shine in the shade of wink. That's why I'm winking ;)

Top 6 Makeup Artist Finds At Saizen

There are just so many items that Saizen has to offer, and I'm not really surprised. After all, the Japanese are popular for inventing and manufacturing all sorts of things that you need and don't need at the same time.

For this post, I'm going to share my top favorite makeup artist finds from the store. I'm not sponsored in any way to do this post (or any other of my posts hahaha), it's just that while I was at makeup school, the school was in a mall and Saizen was a mere 15 second walk from school that I frequented this store while in school. I frequented this store so much that I've more or less familiarized myself with their product line, the knick knacks, and the really useful and value adding things they sell. Moreover, I also noticed that a lot of the stuff that the school had were bought from this store. And there have even been times that my teacher went to Saizen to make a rush purchase for items the school doesn't have!

Main post after the jump!

Make Up For Ever High Definition Microfinish Powder Review

If there's anything that could end the reign of all eyeshadow fallout, this is it, pansit!

This is Make Up For Ever's High Definition Microfinish powder. By far, it's the most fine milled, luxurious and natural looking powder I've tried...

What To Buy From Suesh

I know a lot of you guys are familiar with Suesh as this store selling brushes and traincases, but I'd actually like to highlight that aside from a lot of the tools they sell, you can also get a whole lot of eyeshadows from them at Php95 a pop and lippies at Php90 (I think?) a pop!

They have a lot of eyeshadows in crazier colors that other more consumer-centric brands wouldn't carry or those that wouldn't be worth it to buy from an expensive brand. I have yellow, red, purple, and some brown eyeshadows from them. Quality wise, the shimmery ones they have are relatively okay, but the matte ones aren't packed with that much color payoff. However, they're still good choices because the only other brand with these colors and extreme color payoff is Sugarpill, and we know that once a reseller sells it here it's already almost twice the US price and a single eyeshadow could be sold for Php700-800 here.

More photos after the jump!

Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Makeup (shade 0.5) Review

You may have seen my review of Make Up For Ever's HD foundation awhile back and discovered that it's only this year that I started buying high end foundations in my shade and stopped all the guesswork with random foundation samples and BB creams. This is another one of those purchases that I thought long and hard for because I was tired of having foundations that were just too dark or too yellow on me.

You may have also heard of Urban Decay's BB Cream as a lot of online resellers here have it available, but they also have a nice foundation line with 18 shades ranging from this shade (0.5, which is the lightest) up to a shade called shade 12 which is legitimately for African American people (as in it's not tan or kayumanggi, it's really in their shade).
