Overall Feedback:
L'Oréal Paris Infallible 24HR Fresh Wear Liquid Foundation is amazingly the kind of foundation you'd think was engineered for the new normal, but actually has been around for quite some time now.

This foundation has a satin finish. It's not matte, definitely not flat matte. But it's also not dewy like other L'Oréal group releases, or like K-beauty brands. As the product name implies, "fresh" is the best way to describe the finish. It just looks nice and balanced and refreshing, and it does have a glow to the finish.

The texture is generally liquid, is lightweight and wispy, but not necessarily runny. It sets into a satin-feel finish once applied and blended in. It feels satiny to the touch, and also looks satin in photos, but it really has this glow that it gives. Perhaps, the reason why it can give such a fresh-looking finish is that it can give a glow with a satin finish, giving a net result of skin that looks hydrated without the unwanted greasiness. In the Philippines, this is so important as the weather will really make anyone's skin oily. It's hard to find a foundation that can give a beautiful finish that doesn't look greasy immediately, which is why understandably, most releases that have done well in the Philippines are super matte and powdery formulations. This has

This has medium coverage, and if you will be using a sponge or a kabuki brush, those tools will of course thin it out further. I usually apply one coat with a kabuki brush, and then apply more product on the areas I feel need a bit more coverage. This doesn't cover dark marks and doesn't cover over really dark under-eye circles, so this is going to need to be paired with concealer for most people. I love the medium coverage because it looks very natural. Personally, I care more about having a natural-looking coverage without a mask-like appearance over a foundation covering everything. I use concealer all the time anyway, so it's just easy for me to cover up the marks that the foundation was not able to cover after two thin coats.

It feels like it was made for the new normal because this is a good balance of having a fresh appearance, lightweight feel, and relatively good lasting power. This is among the releases light enough that it can be worn under a mask. I sometimes feel that foundations that are too powdery are the ones that end up feeling the hottest under a mask, so formulations that are less powdery like this one are the ones that are likely to give less of that greenhouse feel under a mask. This is among the best foundations for everyday usage, and whether we're under a severe lockdown or no more quarantine, I'm sure this foundation will still be actively sought out by many people for its impressive qualities.

I have worn this to several of my shoots so far, and what I like is that it doesn't cake even after 8-10 hours of shooting. I retouch with powder quite often for shoots, and my problem usually is that if I retouch many times, the makeup would look patchy and cakey already. I like how I can keep on retouching this in general without much worrying that my makeup will become cakey. I haven't used this for a long period of time in a hot place, so I have yet to check on that aspect. But in terms of an air-conditioned setting, I can attest that this can go for 12 hours or even longer. For situations that are not shoots, I actually don't even think people would need to retouch that much as this has a good, balanced formulation that doesn't look greasy too soon. For best results, I recommend using this foundation with a finely milled powder or with HD powder, and not with a powder foundation, as powder foundation is most likely to defeat the purpose and make this foundation look cakey and mask-like.

The shade selection seems to have not changed much, and there have been 10 shades for quite some time already. In general, L'Oréal pays close attention to the shades Filipinas need, so there's no doubt that most Filipinas will be able to find their shade. And if there is a massive demand for more shades, I also do think that the L'Oréal group will not hesitate to bring in more shades. They are very sensitive to consumer voices in that aspect. As for the North American release, there are 30 shades to match the needs of a more diverse group of people.

At Php650 for 30mL, this is an affordable find for those who want a natural-looking foundation that looks fresh all day. Maybelline's FitMe range is cheaper than this foundation, but I like that it fills in the gaps. Maybelline FitMe! Matte+Poreless is more matte, while Maybelline FitMe! Dewy+Smooth might be a bit too dewy for some people's tastes. This is right smack in the middle of both foundations, giving a shine-free finish with a fresh and glowy feel. I actually regret sleeping on this and not paying attention to it earlier because it's amazing.

This is how it looks like before setting. The look is satin, fresh, although not necessarily dewy. It's its own kind of finish, actually, which is why I think it's special.

This is how it looks like once I have applied a full fave of makeup over this. I used innisfree No Sebum Mineral Powder for this look, and I recommend that powder as a good partner for this foundation.
