Hooray for Althea’s first ever tint release! For Althea fans out there, I’m sure you’re already aware that for the start of 2019, Althea blessed us all with a full blown makeup release including tint, concealer, eye glitter, and eyeshadow. Not to mention the fact that they’ve already had a face powder since 2017. Althea’s Watercolor Cream Tints are sure to delight, as they have 4 shades that are pigmented and wearable for everyday. The special thing is the creamy watercolor like properties of the colors, as usually Korean tints are transparent and jelly like. The creamy color pigmentation means more versatility in usage and a more natural looking result on the lips and cheeks. So let’s get down to the review!

Overall Feedback and Value For Money:

Althea Watercolor Cream Tints are highly pigmented, and can be used as a translucent tint or layered thickly as a sophisticated lip lacquer. Like watercolors, they’re versatile and can be used for the cheeks and the lips, at varying color intensity, with much ease. I personally love all the shades as they look good on plenty of skintones, unlike really red Korean tints. There was a slight warm undertone to each shade, which is why they will look good on Southeast Asians very well. There are only 4 shades, but I actually like how they worked on 4 very different looking shades for different kinds of people, instead of the usual brand that will churn out 10 shades for one kind of pale skintone!

The texture is similar to Korean cheek tint wherein it’s watery and far from being a mousse, but it has some structure to it (i.e. not runny). Unlike the usual tint, Althea Watercolor Cream Tints are creamy and easy to use (especially on the cheeks), unlike the usual Korean tints which are transparent but so strongly colored. It’s easy to achieve a natural result with these tints. Althea Watercolor Cream Tints feel comfortable to use, with no sticky sensation nor any stinging, and they work well with my lip balms. Thanks to Althea Watercolor Cream Tints’ creamy color pigmentation, it lasts fairly well at about 3-5 hours at full intensity on the lips, and fades into a slight tint which stays put all day. Thanks to the opacity of this tint, this works well for those who don’t like having their dry patches on the lips highlighted further.

At Php260 for each 4.5mL tube, it’s such a steal! Most Korean tints are more expensive for less amount of product, and do not perform as well as this one. I highly recommend this product to those looking to try new tints.

The product is packaged in a square tube with transparent body. The packaging is straightforward and it’s easy to find the tints thanks to the transparent body.
