So yeah, as the title implies, I’m taking make up lessons at Makeup Design Academy (a.k.a MDA). It’s a school established in 2009, and it’s right across ABS-CBN (Mother Ignacia Area, Quezon City). Classes started last april 15, and this blog post is about what happened for the first week. We tackled the no make up make up look, day look, smoky eye/ party look and the natural bridal look. More photos on my works after the jump. ๐
So this is the before-and-after photo of my school work for the no make up make up look. It’s more or less the natural or the fresh look. This model was provided by the school and boy was she hard to doll up because her eyebrows are extremely weird. For pro’s, her eyebrows aren’t a big problem, but for amateurs like me, it really was bothering because they were extremely thin and I have no idea if she even has a brow bone. But at least, she looks a bit better after the make up. ๐
As part of the requirements, we needed to recreate the looks we learned in school at home, so I called in my friend Frances to model for me. For the execution, I let her sit in a sunny spot in our living room so that the lighting is ambient but not too overpowering. Since she’s young, I didn’t want to have the make-up visibly perceived. I put on the make up much lighter than what I did in school. Also, she was gonna go to Puregold, so yeah, I didn’t want to get her any unwanted attention there. Her eyebrows are messy and unshaved, but I think that that’s acceptable for young girls. At least they weren’t thick and bushy. I love the effect of Fanny Serrano’s lip gloss on her (and on every other person I’ve used it on).
