Who needs an affordable concealer that does a decent job? We all do!!

The past weeks at work have been really stressful and tiring, and indeed, it has been taking a toll on me as I look more haggard. Skin texture is one sign of stress, but dark under eye circles are more definitive! As of late, my under eye circles are on overdrive, being reallyyy dark and puffy compared to the usual. So it was kinda good timing to review these concealers from Althea.

Blendability	This has a powdery texture but has a forgiving texture that it is easy to pat and drag this around the desired area. Not the best in this aspect, but good enough.

Overall Feedback and Value For Money:

These concealers are really creamy as promised, and to my delight, last reaaaally reaaally well. When I use micellar water, usually, my usual concealer comes off with barely any effort, but with this one, I need to try harder. I like that even when I sweat, or even when my skin is unusually oily, this stays on very well. The texture is lightweight, and it sets and dries, but it stays flexible such that it doesn’t crack and cake. The only thing that I found to be the weakness of this concealer is that the coverage is not the most pigmented out there. I need to apply more concealer than I would with other brands as this doesn’t get to immediately conceal my dark under eye circles. But in the end, after a few layers, it also effectively covers my super dark under eye circles. I’m not complaining because it’s only Php200 per tube, in spite of being made in Korea! The price is so affordable that I’d say that there is more to lose by not trying this rather than shelling out Php200 for this…

I also like that the deeper shades of this concealer are more suited to Southeast Asian skintones. Other Korean brands have shades that are way too light that Southeast Asian skintones are not accommodated.

Vanilla

Really light porcelain shade, with a slightly pinkish undertone. This is reaaally light, so buy this shade only if you’re a sure #21 shade in most Korean BB creams.

Ginger

A fair ivory shade with a yellow undertone. This is the shade that I use. This works for people who are like #21-22 in BB Creams. This will also work for those with really dark under eye circles because the yellow undertones will kill off the bluish undertones of dark under eye circles.

Honey

A slightly deeper shade with peach undertones. This will work best for people who are shade #23-25 in BB Creams.

Mocha

A deep shade with yellowish undertones. According to Althea’s site, this works best for people who are shade #30 and beyond in BB Creams. I’m really happy about this shade because most Korean brands do not do hues this deep for concealer.
