Etude House Dear Darling Oil Tint (PP501-Great Grape) Review, Swatch, Price

Etude House Oil Tint promises the golden ratio between oil and water to volumize the lips. This tint is designed to have high pigmentation and high moisturizing effect with squalene and glycerin. This is named oil tint, but it mainly feels like a glossy tint. This is the review for PP501-Great Grape.

Etude House Oil Tint is the ultimate godsent tint for people with dry lips. I think it’s already safe to say now that at least half of this blog’s contents is me talking about how dry my lips are. It’s really a part of me, whether I like it or not. I apply lip balm about every hour or half-hour or so as my lips are so dry. I was so impressed with the texture of this tint and I think that these are the best tints for other people with dry lips. 

To describe the texture, this is everything good about a gloss without the stickiness. It’s shiny, so it adds a healthy look to the lips and also conceals any dry patches that may have been there. It goes on a bit thickly, which I think helps a lot because it doesn’t dry out so quickly and provides a good barrier for my lips when I have it on. It’s far from sticky, and it doesn’t have a hot feeling on the lips. It’s really very comfortable to wear, and I can wear this comfortably without any lip balm as it feels a lot like lip balm.

In terms of lasting power, if this is applied and not disturbed for quite some time, it does tint the lips and the color stays put quite well. However, as it’s a bit thick and moves a lot, if you drink or eat right after applying this, you may find it fading so soon. This is among the tints that aren’t so long-lasting at first application, but you can ‘build’ the color up as you retouch throughout the day. This is so comfortable that I don’t really mind that this doesn’t last so long. 

There are 8 shades, but I bought just one shade. I wanted to just try it out first. Now that I know I like it, if I see this, I might get other shades. I chose this particular shade because a lot of Korean tints are red-based, so I wanted a cool electric pink shade. This is translucent, but with high pigmentation, so you can use this really thinly as a transparent tint, or pile it on heavily so it can be semi-opaque

I got this for 800 yen at an Etude House store on Takeshita Street in Harajuku. I think this is probably cheaper in Korea as well as other Etude House outlets, as I did see some other items I already own priced more expensively than what I originally paid for. 

Overall, I really love this tint so much and this is in the exact family of textures I love. I like oil tints like these, as well as mousse tints, and I’m no longer actively purchasing watery or gel tints as of late. This is the future of lip tints for people with dry lips, and even for people without dry lips, I highly recommend this as a very comfortable option.
