The interesting thing about being a blogger is that I’m learning a lot of things at the same pace as all of you! People might think that as the blogger, I simply do all of the talking, but I also read up on a lot of things and try out lots of products before being able to share or talk about anything. Something that hasn’t crossed my mind is that there is a lack in the market for oral care products that are sustainable, vegan, and natural. I’m also learning about ingredients that are actually bad for our oral health!
Russian oral care brand Splat has officially entered the Philippine market this quarter, and the family-owned company is excited to be introducing a new philosophy on oral care. Instead of the usual philosophy of putting as much fluoride in every toothpaste as possible, Splat has the school of thought of having both fluoride-containing and non-fluoride toothpaste as too much fluoride can also be bad for the health. Their key philosophy is to add therapeutic amounts of medicinal extracts and essential oils to their toothpaste and mouthwashes for true oral wellness. Splat also prides itself in having CO2-neutral facilities and in manufacturing goods that do not contain SLES, triclosan, chlorhexidine, aluminum lactate, peroxide, petroleum-derived products, synthetic antiseptic agents, sodium lauryl sulfate, and saccharinates.
Due to their belief in using medicinal extracts and essential oils, Splat has a wide variety of toothpaste for various kinds of needs and preferences. Here they are:
For Kids
Splat has two variants for kids (Php185 for 50mL), one with a Wild Strawberry-Cherry flavor, and another with a Fruit Ice Cream flavor. Both variants are targeted for kids aged 2-5 years old, and these contain calcium, L-arginine, and licorice extract. Gosh, how I wish there were toothpaste flavors this exciting when I was a child. Heck, I don’t even care that I’m not a child anymore, I’ll be using these tubes of toothpaste and I’ll be enjoying my time using them!
For Whitening
Splat has three variants for those who wish to have whiter teeth. There is the Splat Biocalcium (Php189 for 100mL) variant which has papain to remove dental plaque, as well as hydroxyapatite to strengthen the teeth. Splat Sensitive White (Php189 for 100mL) variant has essential oils of ming, grapefruit, lysozyme, and zinc gluconate and works towards tooth sensitivity reduction aside from enamel whitening. There’s also Splat White Plus (Php189 for 100mL) for those who want just gentle whitening and also prioritize enamel protection, and this contains potassium ions to protect the teeth from hypersensitivity increase and sodium triphosphate to protect from dental plaque.
For Healthier Gums
For those who want healthier gums and tooth decay protection, there’s Splat Green Tea (Php189 for 100mL) toothpaste, which has (of course) green tea, sage, and chamomile extracts to soothe the gums plus natural pearl to strengthen tooth enamel. For those who want to have healthier gums alongside less tooth sensitivity, Splat Lavendersept (Php189 for 100mL) has bioactive calcium for reducing tooth sensitivity as well as lavender rosemary, and thyme essential oils to promote healthy gums. For healthier gums and superior overall protection, Splat Medical Herbs (Php189 for 100mL) variant has active camomile, sage, and hawthorn extracts to promote healthier gums as well as fluoride ions to protect from dental plaque.
For Fresh Breath
There’s Splat Maximum (Php189 for 100mL) variant with zinc ions and thymol for fresh breath plus hydroxyapatite for decreased tooth sensitivity.
Splat is exclusively distributed by ABGPH Corporation and is now available exclusively at selected Watsons stores as well as Watsons’ Online Store.
