Céleteque Moisturizing Lip and Cheek Duo Review and Swatches

Welcome to yet another Céleteque review! In general, Céleteque has been quite smart in its makeup strategy, by releasing unique items and textures that usually will not be done by more ‘mainstream’ brands. These lip and cheek duos aren’t like the mainstream lip tints taking the market by storm, but instead, these have a mousse-like texture and a more subdued effect.

Shade Selection: As with other Céleteque products, there are only a few shades, but the shades are carefully chosen. There are only two shades for this item, but they got it right to do one cool shade, and one warm shade, so there is more or less an option for everyone.

Color Payoff and Pigmentation: Color payoff wise, the color shows up immediately. But this is not entirely opaque, and intends to still have translucent tint like properties. So when it comes to pigmentation, this is not 100% opaque, but not too translucent either. On the cheeks, the translucent pigmentation is helpful as it’s easy to achieve a natural looking flush of color. To add, as the pigments are less flashy than usual lip tints, even if you do not have it 100% blended, there won’t be awkward unblended dots on your cheeks.

Texture: As I’ve described, this has a powder mousse texture. It doesn’t set like a liquid lipstick, but you do feel that it does set and dry a bit as it settles down on your lips and becomes more matte. On the cheeks, though, it’s a really nifty product as it is easy to pat on, easy to blend, and stays put thanks to its texture. To add, the powder mousse texture is also awesome on the cheeks as this does not drag existing face makeup, unlike what other cream blushes might do. You can easily pat this and blend this in without worrying about cakiness.

Comfort: Like other Céleteque products, this feels super nourishing on the lips. Whenever I have this on, I never feel like I need to apply lip balm. The texture, in spite of being powder mousse, doesn’t feel hot or heavy on the lips. There is no sticky or annoying feeling at all.

Longevity: On the cheeks, it stays put like literally all day––and stays put prettily, if I may add. But for the lips, assuming you don’t eat anything at all, this can last for only about 3-4 hours by itself. If you eat, you’ll really need to retouch.

Value For Money: Each 1.6mL tube is Php665 from leading drugstores and Zalora. As with other Céleteque products, I’m honest that the pricing is a bit too much relative to the amount of product. More so that there are tons of competitors selling lip and cheek products for a fraction of the price. I feel that they can have more product in the tube for the price level they are selling at.

Overall Feedback: I find this to be a practical multipurpose product that is long lasting on the cheeks and is nourishing on the lips. The compact size is good as it’s easy to put in any pouch, and the shades are pretty and flattering. I really just think that they should either lower the price or add more product to make it more justified for consumers paying this much.
